What comes to public/private type of stuff.. I don't know if it really matters that you can't call a private method of some class. If you really wanted to misuse them, you could just modify the code to make it public anyway. Sure, it's probably easier when you don't need to modify the source, but in both cases in my opinion it's just a matter of discipline.
